"In a perfect world," says legendary filmmaker Ken Burns, "we'd want government support [for the arts] and a lot more of it." Burns' new PBS documentary, Prohibition, was made with his longtime collaborator Lynn Novick and explores the causes, failures, and legacy of the nation's "Noble Experiment" in banning alcohol in the early 20th century. His previous works on topics such as the Civil War, baseball, and jazz were critical and commercial successes, helping to revitalize the documentary form and start rich conversations about race, history, and politics. The Prohibition documentary will likely do the same. "There were all these factions, left and right, black and white, that were for [banning alcohol].... It [is] too easy to dismiss it as purely a retrograde, conservative attempt back to some good old days that never existed. It was a much more complicated dynamic." Indeed, the documentary stresses the role of Progressive legislators in pushing the 18th Amendment. "The telling of history need not be Castor Oil, the dry recitation of dates, facts, and events" says Burns, who rejects doctrinaire activism in his art despite calling himself a "Democrat for life." Burns says the proliferation of cheap production and distribution technologies for creative expression is a cause for optimisim but worries about audience fragmentation. Gorleben was supposed to be the final deposition for nuclear waste in Germany but is heavily criticized for safety reasons. There are claims that radiation measurements on site are too high to admit any adding of nuclear waste to what has already summed up during the last decades of years. The people of the Wendland region have always fought an impressive fight against this issue and probably have attributed more to the anti-nuclear movement than anyone can pay back. What's up Home Skillets! Well here are the next steps in my hair regimen. Here's the facts (as well as FAQ's...lol): ✿ Babassu & Marsh Mallow Shampoo Bar PRODUCT INFO: Emollient rich, deeply nourishing babassu oil moisturizes, and restores hair strength and elasticity, for shiny, healthy-looking hair. Walnut oil, an excellent hair care oil, helps condition hair. Shea butter and avocado oil moisturize, restore luster, and conditioner the hair and scalp. We infused the march mallow in grapeseed oil and created a mucilage, by mixing organic marsh mallow root with water and organic aloe. Marsh mallow root soothes and hydrates the hair and scalp, providing relief from scalp irritation. It also detangles and provides a great natural moisturizer for hair. Aloe strengthens the hair shaft, makes hair smoother, silkier, and more manageable. The essential oil blend has lovely floral and spice scent. Ylang ylang, has a stimulating effect on the scalp which helps promote more luxurious hair. Ylang ylang and lemon help balance the production of sebum making them good oils for all hair types. A Chinese folk remedy recommends rubbing ginger root on the scalp to stop hair loss. Essential oils of lemon and ginger also help restore body and shine. O iniciador desta saga de músicos populares orixinarios de Soutelo de Montes ( Pontevedra ) foi o pai dos gaiteiros que, xunto ós seus fillos, adoitaba ameniza-los días grandes das festas da época, xa que era un grupo inusualmente grande e que xa contaba cunha grande sona naquela terra de Montes. Introducía outras novidades: incorporaba unha muller coma cantante, a irmá.(A presenza dunha muller nos grupos musicais non era habitual aló polo 1925). Os componentes eran Avelino Cachafeiro director, compositor e maila alma do grupo, os seus irmáns Castor (gaita) e Bautista (voz e redobrante), o seu pai Fermín (bombo) ea súa tía Andrea, que algunhas veces se xuntaba a eles pra toca-lo pandeiro.
